Sporting success

In the past two weeks, a large number of our sporting teams have played in various finals. Congratulations to all teams for their amazing efforts and for representing the school so well. GCSE examination results - 2014

Wow! Another set of outstanding GCSE results from our lovely year 11. Well done everyone. The percentage of A* and A grades is at an all-time record and this, despite the national downward trend and students only able to sit the examinations once. There were many happy young people this morning and these results will allow them to move on to either the sixth form or college.  > view full article

A-level examination results 2014

152 sixth form students achieved another set of record results at A-level this year. Twenty received all A* and A grades and the vast majority of students had grades of A*, A and B. This has meant that they secured their first place offers at University and we have record numbers off to the top Universities in the country.  Katie Pearce has secured her place to read History at Cambridge whilst James Riding is off to read English at Oxford.  > view full article

German Exchange 2014

25 students have recently come back from the return leg of the German Exchange 2013 - 2014. They spent an unforgettable week in Quickborn, with exciting trips to Berlin and Hamburg and also time discovering what it is like in a German school. Free time was spent with their host families, giving them the chance to really experience the German way of life. > view full article

Fun Run 2014

On Friday, we staged our ninth annual Sandringham Fun Run over a five-mile course around the Marshalswick and Jersey Farm estates. All students run this event and as you can see from the photos, had a great time with many fabulous costumes. Year 7 Project Fayre

On Thursday evening all year 7 showcased their various projects to their parents at our annual Project Fayre. The aim is to give students the opportunity to work in small teams to plan, prepare and deliver a presentation on something of their choice. The range of projects was outstanding with everything from breakfast menus to homemade computer games on show. The students delivered their presentations in a confident and articulate manner and fully entertained their audiences.  > view full article

Year 11 Prom

Friday evening our lovely year 11 celebrated finishing the year in style with their Prom. It was on the theme of the Great Gatsby, and the hall looked fantastic, as did the students. A very big thank you to the organising committee, all of the staff involved and especially Mr. Coy, Performance Director for the year group. Gold DoE expedition

On Thursday afternoon, 10 lower sixth and 5 upper sixth students set off for the Brecon Beacons to take part in their five-day practise expedition, in preparation for their Gold DoE assessment at the end of term. For this part of the Gold DoE Award they have to plan and carry out a 3 day unassisted expedition across 'Wild Country'. They have to take everything the need to survive for this time on their backs, and the terrain includes navigating across mountains. > view full article
