Fun Run 2014

On Friday, we staged our ninth annual Sandringham Fun Run over a five-mile course around the Marshalswick and Jersey Farm estates. All students run this event and as you can see from the photos, had a great time with many fabulous costumes. Year 7 Project Fayre

On Thursday evening all year 7 showcased their various projects to their parents at our annual Project Fayre. The aim is to give students the opportunity to work in small teams to plan, prepare and deliver a presentation on something of their choice. The range of projects was outstanding with everything from breakfast menus to homemade computer games on show. The students delivered their presentations in a confident and articulate manner and fully entertained their audiences.  > view full article

Year 11 Prom

Friday evening our lovely year 11 celebrated finishing the year in style with their Prom. It was on the theme of the Great Gatsby, and the hall looked fantastic, as did the students. A very big thank you to the organising committee, all of the staff involved and especially Mr. Coy, Performance Director for the year group. Gold DoE expedition

On Thursday afternoon, 10 lower sixth and 5 upper sixth students set off for the Brecon Beacons to take part in their five-day practise expedition, in preparation for their Gold DoE assessment at the end of term. For this part of the Gold DoE Award they have to plan and carry out a 3 day unassisted expedition across 'Wild Country'. They have to take everything the need to survive for this time on their backs, and the terrain includes navigating across mountains. > view full article

Genesis Dance Show

On Tuesday evening the dance faculty staged a brand new show - 'Genesis'. This was to provide another opportunity for our many dancers to perform on stage and also to link in with arts week. > view full article

The summer music concert involved a wide variety of music genres as usual, all played to an extremely high standard. Pearson teaching award winners - 2014

On Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Stellon and the directors of learning in the arts; Mrs. Paul, Ms Griggs, Ms Stothard, Ms Meeking and Mrs. Bright travelled to the House of Commons to celebrate their success in the 2014 National Teaching Awards. This was due to their success in the judging rounds earlier in the year and is thoroughly deserved. They are all outstanding members of staff and it is great to see their work recognised on a national level. Well done everyone. > view full article

Junk to Funk Fashion Show

On Thursday evening, the art faculty staged 'Junk to Funk', with students showcasing their various designs made from junk material.  This is run as a house competition, and was fiercely contested with many outstanding pieces of work. In the end, Darwin House came out as overall winners so congratulations to them, and well done to everyone else for many stunning pieces of fashion. > view full article

Two Sandringham students win County U18 doubles tennis tournament

On Saturday 21st June, Emily Caswell and Chloe Pettengell represented Sandringham School in the U18 County Doubles Tennis Tournament, held at Royal Masonic School. The two girls, who are currently in year 10 played against a high caliber of opposition throughout the day in a Round Robin format. In their first game, they played St Albans High School B team and strung together a series of excellent shots to beat them 6-2 6-0. > view full article
