Sandringham returns to space: High Altitude Balloon launch.
During assembly this week, the Sandringham STEM team is launching a major project for 2017.
During British Science Week (13th-17th March), we will be launching a High Altitude Balloon carrying a payload of Raspberry Pi computers and various cameras and sensors that will record the balloon’s journey some 30 kilometers above the earth. From this distance, we will hope to receive live pictures of near-space, including the curvature of the Earth. The balloon will then burst and return the payload to Earth, were we will track via radio and GPS signals and hopefully recover it intact.
This amazing project needs teams of young people to volunteer and Mr Allday has sent the Google Form to all students. The signup deadline is 14th December 2016.
Thanks to Mr Allday for leading this fantastic project.
