ELD/E-week
Extended Learning Days (ELDs)
There are 5 ELDs throughout the year, 1 per half term. On ELD 1 to 4, normal lessons are suspended and students are involved in activities as a year group. Activities range from Geography fieldwork, learning about the Holocaust, creating a theatre production in a day to careers enrichment visits. The 5th ELD is a House Day competition with students from each year group working together as they represent their House.
Enrichment Week (E-week)
E-week takes place in June and is a week of activities that offer opportunities for supporting community cohesion, focusing on the personal development of students and allowing staff and students to work together on fun and exciting activities. Year 8 and 9 students have the opportunity to undertake a residential trip (Year 8 – to France or Germany and Year 9 – to PGL or Bushcraft) while all students have the opportunity to undertake day trips and in school activities. The week also sees Year 10 students complete a week of work experience while Year 12 students will undertake end of year exams. Year 11 and 13 students will be sitting external examinations.
