Primary Research School Lead
UPS/MPS depending on skills/ experience
One day a week (could be two half days or similar) / approx. 0.2 FTE

Are you a primary practitioner who is passionate about educational research and communicating this to school leaders and staff? Are you committed to making a difference for disadvantaged pupils? Are you able to confidently deliver high quality training and continuous professional development for education professionals, both locally and regionally? Are you keen to become part of the Education Endowment Foundation’s Research Schools Network – a forward-thinking network of schools with innovative approaches to learning at its heart?
We are looking to recruit a Primary Research Lead to join the day-today delivery of the Research School with an emphasis on sharing high quality, evidence-based practice from their experience in primary schools. The role involves designing and leading training courses, coaching and communicating through writing blogs and using social media. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work well in a team, have experience of using research in their primary school teaching, and have experience of training primary teachers.

This is a part time (0.2 FTE), fixed term contract with a flexible start date based on availability until July 2023. We would welcome applications from colleagues being seconded for a day a week (potential to be flexible to fit with school timetabling) from their current roles/schools. The Sandringham Research School has been a member of the Research School Network since 2017. During this time, we have supported a large number of schools across the region through our professional development offer, sharing evidence-based practice to inform teaching and learning. We are committed to breaking the link between family income and education achievement through the use of research evidence. The Research School is one of only 38 schools to be awarded this status in the country.
Our lead school, Sandringham School, is rated as ‘Outstanding’ and has built up a strong reputation locally and regionally. We have a proven track record of developing our staff through evidence-informed practice and engagement with research, as well as CPD provision and ITT delivery via the Alban Federation. Sandringham School is also a designated Teaching School Hub for this region and part of the Alban Academies Trust. The school leads the Alban Teaching School Hub and is a Research School. We are also designated DfE EdTech Demonstrator School and Computing Hub.
