Sandringham students seeded for Senior Tennis National Finals
The Senior boys tennis team have been pre seeded for the LTA Schools Team Tennis National Finals in July this year. The team comprising Andre, Alex, Chris, Ryan and Ivan (pictured below at their last appearance at the championships) were pre seeded in the top 4 schools teams in the UK based on players individual LTA ratings. This pre qualifies them for the finals at Nottingham Tennis Centre from the 6th to the 10th of July alongside the 3 other seeded schools and 12 additional schools who are lucky enough to qualify across England, Scotland and Wales. This is a huge achievement for the boys and recognises the hard work and dedication they have to their sport. The seeding is quite remarkable considering that we are the only comprehensive school to appear on this pre-qualification list alongside some very illustrious company, in a number of the country’s top independent sporting schools with very large tennis programs. There is a lot of work to do between now and the finals and I am sure that both the boys and girls teams across the school will be working hard to have another fantastic season, which may hopefully see us ranked in the top 10 tennis schools in the country for another year.
