SIXTH FORM INDUCTION 2024
This section contains all of the information for students joining us in the Sixth Form in September. Please read through the documents carefully prior to your compulsory Induction event on the 26th and 27th June as they contain important information about life in the Sixth Form.
The Sixth Form Handbook
The Sixth Form Handbook is a key document which you must read before starting in the Sixth Form, so that you are aware of the culture and expectations, as well as how you will be supported in school. There is also the dress code which specifies how you must present yourself for school.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
We have a policy which requires all students to bring in a device (laptop) to school. We would advise a device such as a Chromebook, although some subjects require an alternative type of laptop. The documents in this section explain this fully.
16-19 Bursary
Sixth Form students may be eligible to apply for a bursary to support their studies. Eligible students will receive resources necessary for their courses, including the long-term loan of a laptop and items such as textbooks and practical equipment. Bursary students will also receive funding for compulsory trips and a contribution towards travel costs where applicable. The documents attached explain the full details and eligibility criteria. Forms will be distributed on the first day in September so that students can apply.
BSV Subject Criteria & Option Blocks
Course Confirmation in August
To confirm your place at Sandringham Sixth Form for September 2024, you must submit your individual course confirmation form to the main box at reception or the sixth form block preferably after you have received your results on Thursday 22nd August. The absolute deadline is 9.30am on Friday 23rd August. On this form you can request any subject changes. If we do not receive this form by the deadline, we assume you do not wish to take your place and we will release it for other students to take.
Summer Work
Each subject area has set Summer Work which is compulsory and must be completed by the first lessons in September. If you change a subject in August, you must complete the Summer Work by September for your new subject. If you are taking a subject at Beaumont and Verulam, you need to complete the work set by the subject there, not the work set by an equivalent Sandringham subject. In addition to the summer work, we also have subject information presentations available from the January Open Evening HERE.
