Welcome to Sandringham – your new school

We would like to welcome you to Sandringham School and what will be the start of a wonderful period in your lives. Secondary school is incredibly exciting, challenging and rewarding and you will join many thousands of children who have been educated at the school.

Welcome

Sandringham School is delighted to welcome all new students in September and is confident that the Class of 2026 will be an outstanding year group.

The school looks forward to learning more about each new student.  This will involve personalised visits to students' primary schools in May from Mr Kemp, Assistant Headteacher, and other members of staff responsibile for Year 7 transition.

Key dates:

  • Chromebook Information Evening (Parents only) – Tuesday 21st April 2026, 17:30–18:30 at Sandringham School

  • Year 7 Transition Evening (Parents and children) – Tuesday 30th June 2026, 17:30–19:30 at Sandringham School

  • Student Induction Day (Students only) – Thursday 9th July 2026, 8:25–15:05 at Sandringham School

Applicaa

Parents and carers of students who have been allocated a place at Sandringham School will receive a welcome email containing login details for the online system, Applicaa. Once logged in, parents and carers will be able to complete their child’s data collection form (deadline 3rd April) and find further information about the events listed above.

‘All About Me’ Survey

In May, Mr Kemp will be visiting all primary schools to meet Y6 teachers and students. During the visits, students will learn about transition timeline, about what it is like to be a Sandringham School student, and the visits provide an opportunity for students to speak about what might be worrying them about their move to secondary school.

We would like to know as much about our new students as we can, in order to facilitate an enjoyable transition for all involved.  In order to do this, we have created an 'all about me' survey for students to complete themselves. A link to this will be live on this site and via Applicaa soon.

Year 6 into 7 BYOD Information

Further information will be shared with families during our initial Chromebook Information Evening on Tuesday 21st April 2026.

Moving on: Learning Resource Centre – Suggested Reads

The Librarians look forward to talking with new students about what they have read over the summer when they begin school in September.

Students are encouraged to click below to see Sandringham's suggested reads if they need help choosing what to read. The books on the list were enjoyed by last year’s students or have been recommended by Library staff.

The Library team greatly enjoys receiving recommendations from students and encourages them to share suggestions if their favourite book or series is not currently available, so that it can be stocked in the LRC.

Once students start school, they will be able to borrow books from the LRC and access eBooks. They will be given time to visit the library during English lessons and will need a book to read during tutor time.
