Alban Teaching School Hub
Sandringham School is the lead school for the Alban Teaching School Hub (TSH). The Hub is a DfE designated centre of excellence in professional development serving 312 schools in St.Albans, Harpenden, Watford, Dacorum, Hertsmere, Three Rivers, Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield. TSHs ensure that schools are at the forefront for delivering high quality training and professional development, providing support for teachers at every stage of their career through raising teacher standards.


TSHs are responsible for delivering:
- Initial Teacher Training
- Early Career Training programmes
- National Professional Qualifications for teachers and leaders
- Appropriate Body services for Early Career Teachers
- Signposting other professional development through DfE approved training programmes
- Working with Maths Hubs, English Hubs and all subject hubs
- Working with Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE)
The Ambition Education Trust, led by the Alban TSH, is also an Associate College with the National Institute of Teaching. The NIoT works with schools to boost the quality of teaching and school leadership by carrying out research, applying the insights to the design and delivery of professional development and sharing findings with the sector.
