Welcome to Sandringham – your new school.
We would like to welcome you to Sandringham School and what will be the start of a wonderful period in your lives. Secondary school is incredibly exciting, challenging and rewarding and you will join many thousands of children who have been educated at the school.
The process of preparing for starting at Sandringham began during April and continued throughout May. Mr Kemp and other staff visited primary schools to meet our class of 2021 and their teachers.
Unlike last year, we were able to come and visit students and teachers in primary schools, ensuring that we follow appropriate COVID guidelines. This is part of the transition process that was sorely missed in 2020, so we are excited that we have been able to get back to face to face visits. Induction evening will be going ahead as a virtual release of information on this website page on Thursday 24th June. After induction evening, we have Secondary Transfer Day, taking place on Thursday 8th July where the class of 2021 will receive further important information relating to the start of their journey, again, delivered on this website.
Induction Day: from 3.30pm on Thursday 8th July
On this afternoon, Mr Davis will lead you through important information relating to school life, tutor group allocation and summer activities. This information will be available via this website and emails. Any recorded material will be made available to re-watch after the event.
Please complete this register at the start of your ‘Induction Day’.
The most important thing for us is that you have all the information you require to make the transition and that you are well prepared for the move from your junior schools.
We are looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Induction Evening Welcome: Thursday 24th June
Welcome letter from Mr Kemp, Assistant Headteacher
My name is Mr Kemp and I am delighted to welcome you all to Sandringham School! Alongside other members of staff I have been busy contacting all of your teachers at your primary schools and hearing a plethora of brilliant things about all of the students joining us in September. I have been struck by how many comments from your current teachers highlight what exceptional young people will be starting at Sandringham in the next academic year and when I have met some of you, I was blown away by how brilliant you all were. I am sure the Class of 2021 will be the best year group that Sandringham has ever had!
One of the concerns that parents and carers may have at this time is the acquisition of the Sandringham School uniform. Please see the flyer in the uniform section below for guidance on how you can go about booking some time at Stevensons.
Finally, it has been a pleasure to come and visit you all at your current schools, and I cannot wait to see you all at Sandringham soon.
With best wishes,
New Update : Uniform
Moving on: Learning Resource Centre – Suggested Reads
We would like you to use this list during the summer to read at least one of the books or hopefully more during the holidays. You can, of course, read other books by the same author on this list. We look forward to talking about them with you when you arrive at school in September.
We really enjoy receiving recommendations from students, so if we do not have your favourite book, please let us know and we may be able to buy it for the Library.
Some books are also available in eBook format via our VLe Books website (see MySandstorm under “Library”) once you start school.
For your information you will be given time during lessons to visit the Library regularly and you will also need a fiction book to read during registration periods.
We hope that you enjoy the stories you choose to read, and we look forward to meeting you in September when you become a member of our Learning Resource Centre.
