Volunteers required to help deliver mass Covid-19 testing in school
We have been preparing for delivery of mass testing to staff and students in the weeks after we return to school, and are looking for a team of volunteers from our community who would be able to help deliver this programme.
The school has staff who will be able to take on some of the key roles, however there is a need for a number of adults to provide support to manage the process. There are different roles, some require giving instructions to students on how to administer the test, others involve data handling and recording etc. It is likely that we will need volunteers throughout January, and we will draw up a rota for volunteers/staff members when we have clarity on availability and the likely schedule/start date. We propose to use the SandPit Theatre as the school’s test site, since it is a large and well-ventilated area separated from the rest of the school.
The government will be providing an on-line training session that you would be required to take prior to starting, and the school will provide all the necessary PPE required and other hospitality arrangements. Enhanced DBS checks may be required for volunteers that are not supervised by school staff.
If you do feel you would like to support the school in this way, could you kindly respond to the simple Google Form here with your details so that we can contact you and consider a way forward.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
